YCODE is a men’s skincare system created around one idea: men deserve skincare engineered for their biology, not adapted from women’s products. Five years of research into male skin physiology and the adaptive behaviour of microalgae shaped our From Sea to Cell™ technology, making YCODE one of the few skincare brands built specifically for men from the ground up.
Men’s skin is thicker, oilier and more collagen dense, with different hydration needs and a distinct ageing timeline. These biological differences require specialised formulations. Working with marine biotech labs in Iceland and Barcelona, we developed microalgae powered skincare that retains adaptive intelligence even after extraction. These ancient organisms read the skin, understand its condition and respond in real time, delivering targeted hydration, balance and repair.

WHY WE EXIST
For years, men choosing skincare have been given repurposed women’s formulas, overcomplicated routines and outdated branding. The men’s skincare category expanded but adoption remained low because products were not engineered for men’s skin and rarely delivered results.
YCODE was created to solve that problem. We make performance focused skincare for men that is simple to use, streamlined and scientifically credible. Products men can rely on every day without unnecessary steps or complexity.
OUR FOUNDER
Freddie Sheridan began developing YCODE after seeing a repeated industry habit: women’s skincare formulas placed in masculine packaging and sold to men, despite biological differences that made them less effective. Years in luxury beauty and retail highlighted a clear gap. Men needed skincare built for them, not borrowed from elsewhere.
Instead of relabelling existing products, Freddie spent five years researching male biology before creating anything new. The breakthrough came through microalgae research in Iceland and Barcelona. These organisms retain adaptive intelligence after extraction, enabling them to read the skin and deliver exactly what it needs. This discovery became the basis of YCODE’s From Sea to Cell™ technology.
Freddie’s own relationship with skincare began young. Growing up around global beauty brands, he developed a daily routine early on. The ritual became a way of feeling prepared and clear headed before stepping into the day.

STEP INSIDE THE SCIENCE
Every stage of YCODE product development has been purposeful. From microalgae cultivation in Iceland to sustainable formulation in Barcelona, our skincare for men is grounded in research and measurable performance.
Our Hydrating Face Serum and Mattifying Moisturiser use a specific strain of Chlorella Vulgaris, selected for its rare cell wall structure and ability to sense and respond to stressors. Packed with antioxidants, amino acids, complex carbohydrates and omega rich fatty acids, it strengthens the barrier, smooths texture and supports long term resilience.
Our Advanced Eye Serum incorporates marine bioactives like Fucus Vesiculosus and Lithothamnion Calcareum. These mineral rich algae help calm inflammation, support collagen strength and improve firmness around the eyes, all key concerns in men’s skincare.
These microalgae derived actives form the core of YCODE’s adaptive intelligence, supported by peptides, niacinamide, prebiotics and hydrating complexes. Each ingredient is selected for its ability to work in harmony with male skin and help it perform at its best.
