Why the eye area needs its own step

The Daily Essentials improves the face and neck. Advanced Eye Serum adds concentrated support for the thinner skin where tiredness and ageing are often noticed first.

Five weeks of The Daily Essentials can leave the face looking smoother, fresher and more even. Hydration lasts longer. Excess oil and visible shine are better controlled. The barrier is better supported and the skin looks better cared for.

The next step is not more of the same. It is targeted support for a different area.

Why the eye area behaves differently

The skin around the eyes is thinner than the skin across most of the face. It has less room to disguise changes beneath it, which is why shadows, puffiness, fine lines and signs of fatigue tend to show there so readily.

The area also moves constantly. Blinking, squinting and facial expression repeatedly fold the same fine skin. A general face product can provide hydration, but it is not designed around the full combination of dark circles, eye bags, puffiness, fine lines and the way light behaves around the eye contour.

What Advanced Eye Serum adds

Advanced Eye Serum uses five key actives to address the eye area from different directions:

  • Fucoidan supports smoother-looking skin, dark circles and crow's feet
  • Red algae minerals support hydration and surface smoothness
  • Wild ginger targets the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and tired-looking eyes
  • Pro-vitamin B5 supports hydration and the skin barrier
  • Beetroot extract supports water retention

Melanin Adaptive Technology adjusts the mineral pigments to the wearer's skin tone. From the first application, the eye area can look fresher as shadow appears reduced while the biological work begins beneath it.

What the evidence looks like over time

In the wild ginger assessment, the first changes were reported after 15 minutes:

  • 86% said they looked less tired
  • 73% reported reduced dark circles
  • 68% reported reduced eye bags

At day 15:

  • 94% reported looking less tired
  • 90% reported reduced dark circles
  • 89% reported an improved eye contour

At one month, three-dimensional scanning measured an average reduction of 27.6 mm³ in eye-bag volume. At two months, the average reduction reached 40.1 mm³, with the greatest reduction measuring 188 mm³, about the volume of a garden pea.

Less volume means less of a ridge beneath the eye, and less of a ridge means less shadow. The area can look flatter and smoother from the front and the side.

What the third step changes about the whole face

The Daily Essentials improves hydration, texture, tone, the barrier, oil and visible shine across the face and neck. Advanced Eye Serum adds concentrated support where dark circles, puffiness and fine lines can make the whole face look tired.

Fresher-looking eyes change how the rest of the face is read. Another 20 seconds completes the routine with support for the area people tend to notice first.

Here is to two minutes well spent.

Can I use the face serum around my eyes?

The face serum provides hydration, but Advanced Eye Serum is specifically designed for dark circles, puffiness, eye bags, fine lines and the thinner skin around the eyes.

How much eye serum should I use?

Use one grain of rice for both eyes, divided between the middle fingers and applied gently around the complete eye area.

When does Advanced Eye Serum show results?

It provides an immediate optical effect, with active-led changes measured from 15 minutes through one week, 15 days, one month and two months.

I started YCODE because most skincare was never designed for men’s skin. What I write here is what the formulators taught me, and what the trials actually found.
