What four weeks of YCODE Hydrating Face Serum changed

Fifty men, two assessments and one finished formula. At four weeks, hydration had become smoother texture, a stronger-feeling barrier, better oil control and greater confidence.

One month in: comparing the face in natural daylight

The first application answers whether a serum feels worth using. Four weeks answers whether it deserves to stay.

YCODE Hydrating Face Serum was assessed as a finished product in an independent consumer study. Fifty men aged 18 to 50 used it morning and evening, reporting after the first application and again after four weeks.1

The panel included normal, sensitive and blemish-prone skin, with broad representation across skin tones.

What changed after four weeks

98%Said their skin appeared rehydrated
96%Said their skin looked smoother
96%Said their moisture barrier felt stronger

Alongside those, 94% said dullness was reduced and their skin looked energised, 92% said it helped control excess oil through the day, and 90% said their skin stayed moisturised all day.1

These results describe a connected change. Hydration was not confined to the moment of application. It carried into the day, the texture of the surface, the condition of the barrier and the balance between comfort and visible oil.

They are self-assessments: each man's own reading of his own face over four weeks. That is a useful complementary measure rather than instrumental efficacy data.

From hydration to confidence

Skincare matters because of what happens after the bathroom door opens.

  • 94% said looking better made them feel more confident
  • 94% felt more confident meeting new people
  • 90% said looking after their skin had become an important daily ritual

Confidence is not an ingredient claim. It is the human consequence of looking in the mirror and feeling that the face looking back reflects how you want to carry yourself.

That is the purpose of the two minutes that count. The routine is short. Its value continues into the rest of the day.

How to judge your own result

Use natural daylight and compare the photograph from your first morning with one taken now. Look for:

  • Smoother texture across the forehead and cheeks
  • A fresher, more even appearance
  • Less visible excess oil through the centre of the face
  • Skin that looks less depleted after a short night
  • Greater comfort after washing and later in the day

The image is useful because gradual improvement quickly becomes familiar. Memory adjusts. A photograph preserves the starting point.

What continues after one month

One month is the measured checkpoint, not the point at which skin stops responding.

In the same trial, 90% said their results continued improving with ongoing use and 88% said they would continue using the serum.1

Consistency maintains hydration and gives texture, tone, barrier strength and balance more time to improve. This is why the journey rail continues beyond the one-month marker.

If the serum has earned its ten seconds, a review helps another man understand what it is like to use and whether it deserves a place in his routine.

I started YCODE because most skincare was never designed for men’s skin. What I write here is what the formulators taught me, and what the trials actually found.
